World music salon „The flying carpet”

A concert series by Liquid Soul

Dear friends of world music,
Since we are currently unable to host live events, we have decided to continue our world music salon „The Flying Carpet” as a small digital concert series.

Since mid-April 2020 we have been broadcasting about 30-minute house concerts for our world music audience. These have been specially recorded for the „Flying Carpet” and will be premiered here or on YouTube.

In it, musicians from Bali, India, China, Scandinavia, Germany and others introduce themselves and their world of Sound. We know all of them personally and some have already been asked to perform at the World Music Salon, because they wanted to tour Europe in spring 2020. As a gesture of solidarity and appreciation, we would like to enable the musicians and our world music salon visitors to meet in this way.

We wish you new and exciting insights into the world of music from other cultures and the sound art of creative musicians from our region.

Heartearart

Matthias Frey – Grand piano | Rageed William – Duduk | Nay Christopher Herrmann – Cello

The joint CD project of the 3 musicians is called heart ear art, art that ne can perceive with heart (soul) and ears. They reach into the treasure chest of European classical music, the richness of sound of Arabic music and take the freedom and rhythmical drive of jazz. The result is a world of sound that sounds familiar and captivating, but also contains many surprises, including the guest musician Ra`fat Muhammad with percussions and vocals.
